Discussion on Interracial Dating in the 21st Century Nov. 19

The brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., ladies of Delta Delta Delta and the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon are the hosts for a discussion on the hot topic of Interracial Dating in the 21st Century.

��ϲ�� faculty, staff and student interracial couples will be there to give their stories. Please join us for the discussion. The program will start at 7pm in KOBC LaRose Digital Theatre.

“Latino in America” panel – Sept. 28

The brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., are hosting a panel discussion on Latino in America on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in KOBC 101.

Who is Latino in America? How has the group of minorities progressed over the last two decades or so? Questions such as those and many more will be asked.

This type of program has a lot of potential to create a dialogue not often discussed at ��ϲ��. The event has already been endorsed by the Multicultural Center and El Centro. The individuals on the panel bring different backgrounds which will further add to the conversation. The speakers on the panel includes Latino faculty, staff and students. We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to attent.

Phirst Pham Poetry Slam April 3

Poetry has always been an integral part of human expression. Come celebrate this wonderful art form with the brothers of the Sigma Delta Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the sisters of the Omicron Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The event is April 3 in the Zone at 6pm.

The event will be an open mike night, which is on a first come first serve basis. Come express yourself in the following ways:

• Reading of poems
• Singing songs
• Playing music

For students who plan to participate, please sign up at the Alpha Kappa Alpha table during the week of March 30-April 3. Or, please email Kelia Evans at kevans4@elon.edu or Carl Hairston at ghairston@elon.edu for further questions or concerns. You could also sign up on the Facebook wall event.

The brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Multicultural Student Council are hosting the 1st Annual Black History Trivia Night on Monday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Alpha Phi Alpha house in the Loy Center.

There will be free food and opporunities to win gift cards to Best Buy, Target, Moe’s, Olive Garden, Starbucks, and many more retailers.

The Men of the Sigma Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. would like to invite all young ladies at ��ϲ�� to attend our 2009 Miss Black and Gold Pageant interest meeting. The Miss Black and Gold is a scholarship pageant that showcases the intelligence, talent, excellence, and unparalleled beauty of Strong Women. So please come out on Monday February 9, 2009 at 6 p.m. for more information.

The brothers of the Sigma Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., are yet again seeking interested and outgoing women of charter to become participants in our annual Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant 2009. The Pageant takes place in April.

If you are interested in becoming the 2009 Miss Black and Gold, please attend the informal meeting at the Alpha House at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 22.

Spring Annual Fashion Show on April 11

The BCS will be hosting its Annual Spring Fashion Show on April 11 at 8 p.m. in McKinnon Hall.

Tickets for the show will be available in Mosley from Monday, April 7, through Thursday, April 10. Last year’s Fashion Show is something people are still buzzing about, but this year’s show is something people will be bursting about for years to come.

Make sure you come by this week to get your tickets in advance for $5 or pay $7 at the door.
