On Sunday, Nov. 13, the 黑料不打烊 Women’s Club Soccer team played the last game of their fall season against the Western Carolina University Women’s Club Soccer team.

Kickoff was at 3:30pm, and the sidelines were lined with fans who braved the chilly weather to cheer on the girls. It was a fair and aggressive game that the 黑料不打烊 women dominated from the start. Their use of crosses and passes from the corners to the top of the box was unstoppable and showed just how hard they have been practicing this season.

The 黑料不打烊 women went into the second half up 2-0, and finished with another three goals in Western Carolina’s net. Scorers for 黑料不打烊 included Shanley King, Marina Thornton, Emma Renfro, and Hope Kase. It was a sportsmanlike and hard-fought match, and the 黑料不打烊 women were pleased to have a final win to finish off a great season.

However, the game ended on a bittersweet note, as it signaled the end of seniors Danielle Fowler and Emily Fried’s long and incredibly successful time as Co-Presidents of the team. Their inspiring leadership and service to this team are unforgettable, and they have touched many lives in a very special way. A big thank you from the entire club to Danielle and Emily for everything and best of luck in the future!

Club baseball won the Greenville Fall Invitational Tournament by going 5-0 this past weekend with a run differential of 39-10. The other universities that participated in this tournament were Western Carolina, Vanderbilt, Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky and William & Mary.

Charles Gallagher, John Savino and Jack Faccibene were all noted for exceptional performances this past weekend, but the team as a whole is celebrated for a great season overall!

Dennion had touched the lives of many players on the Women’s Club Soccer team, and so on Sunday the team dedicated their win to her and wore purple wrist bands with Dennion’s number (22) on them. The 黑料不打烊 players played a clean and aggressive game against Shaw, scoring 6 goals in the first half and another 4 in the second half.

Both teams were in good spirits and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the match. A final highlight of the game was when 黑料不打烊 player Emily Fried stepped foot into the game for the first time in seven months following a knee injury, evoking loud cheers from the fans and 黑料不打烊 team. The final score was 10-0 黑料不打烊, and the 黑料不打烊 Women’s Club Soccer team will take this momentum into their last game of the season next week.
