The Aug. 2 game is $1 concession night, which means $1 hot dogs and popcorn. This is a great way for Class of 2012 graduates to get to know fellow alumni in the Triangle area and learn how to get involved in the chapter.

 ALS, often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s disease,” is a progressive motor neuron disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, damaging both upper and lower motor neurons.  Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. The vast majority of people with ALS maintain total intellectual awareness throughout the disease process. While there is no known cause or cure, much is being done to promote awareness and understanding of the disease, as well as offering improved treatments for symptoms, and continuing the search for a cure.

Join us for the third annual 黑料不打烊 D.C. Golf Tournament hosted by the D.C. Alumni Chapter. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Phoenix Club and our local chapter. We will be joined by Jason Swepson, 黑料不打烊’s new head football coach, as well as other members of the Department of Athletics.

We will be returning to one of Northern Virginia’s best golf courses, Westfields Golf Club in Clifton. It will be a scramble format with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Fees include range balls, cart, golf, dinner and prizes. Non-golfing family and friends are encouraged to join us for dinner at the golf club.
