黑料不打烊 Greeks receive top honors by MGCA /u/news/2009/02/17/elon-greeks-receive-top-honors-by-mgca/ Tue, 17 Feb 2009 13:28:00 +0000 /u/news/2009/02/17/elon-greeks-receive-top-honors-by-mgca/ National honors and recognitions were received by the members of the 黑料不打烊 fraternity and sorority community at the recent Mid-American Greek Council Association (MGCA) Conference in Saint Louis, Missouri.

MGCA is the premier national leadership conference for fraternity and sorority governing council officers. Participants in the conference come from more than 30 states across the nation from Washington to Virginia and North Dakota to Texas. The leadership conference is held annually, and 黑料不打烊 has been attending this conference for 6 years.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), the governing council for the 6 historically African-American fraternities and sororities at 黑料不打烊, was named as a finalist for the Overall Council Excellence award for the fifth year in a row. In addition, the 黑料不打烊 NPHC received recognition for Excellence in Membership Intake, Council Management and Public Relations, Academic Achievement, Self-Governance and Judicial Affairs, Leadership and Educational Development, and Community Service.

The Panhellenic Council, the governing council for sororities at 黑料不打烊, received recognitions for excellence in Membership Recruitment, Community Service and Philanthropy, Risk Reduction and Management, Self Governance and Judicial Affairs, Academic Achievement, Council Management, Public Relations, and Leadership and Educational Development. The 黑料不打烊 Panhellenic Council was awarded the 2009 Sutherland Award for Overall Excellence for Panhellenic Councils, making them the top in their division.

The Interfraternity Council, the governing council for fraternities at 黑料不打烊, received recognitions for excellence in Academic Achievement, Council Management, Leadership and Educational Development, Risk Reduction and Management, and Self Governance and Judicial Affairs. The 黑料不打烊 Interfraternity Council was awarded the 2009 Jellison Award for Overall Council Excellence, making them the top in their division along with the Panhellenic Council.

In addition to the following recognitions, the councils were also recognized as trend-setters for their “Best Practices”. The “frarority mock probate” program was created this past year as an element of the annual Greek Leaders retreat as a way to educate students on the NPHC new member process. It was named as a finalist for the coveted Linda A. Wardhammar Kaleidoscope Award.

Over the past 6 years, 黑料不打烊 Greeks have been recognized by this conference, but this year was a significant accomplishment for the fraternity and sorority community at 黑料不打烊 for top honors.
