Five ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumni - Joan Summers Drummond ’52, Lundon B. Sims ’02, Laith al-Majali ’05, Bonnie K. Baxter ’88  and Noel L. Allen ’69, P’07 - were honored by the university on Nov. 8 for the contributions they have made to their professions, and for the honor they bring their alma mater.

Homecoming 2008 offers something for everyone this year, including College Coffee and the Spirit Rally, Golden Alumni luncheon, Young Alumni party, tailgating before the Phoenix football game and the Beach Bash featuring the alumni band The IN-MEN. Art Cassill, a professor of accounting, has been named ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's first Wesley R. Elingburg Professor. Cassill was recognized during Fall Convocation on Oct. 23, where ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ trustee Wes Elingburg and his wife, Cathy, were in attendance for the presentation. It was their generous gift to the university that made possible the endowed professorship.

Hundreds of members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community gathered on campus Saturday, Oct. 11, to give their unanimous support for the launch of Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ: The Campaign for the Future of Our University. The meeting was followed by a picnic lunch and formal kickoff dinner.

Momentum continues to build for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s new IGNITE young alumni giving program, which enables graduates of the past decade to give back to the university and make a difference in the lives of students.
