Lynn Twitchell speaks on Zambia and service Feb. 15

Lynn Twitchell got involved with Habitat-Zambia after her son did Habitat work through ��ϲ�� Volunteers. She has led 7 Habitat trips to Zambia in the past 5 years. She will be speaking Sunday Feb. 15, at 7:00 in KOBC 346.

She will discuss the state of Zambia today, as she sees it, and our responsibility to help others throughout the world. She will be showing pictures of her Zambian experiences, including the establishment of the only women’s resource center in the Western Province of Zambia, funded largely through an NGO she established at her home.

Located within the beauty of a 165 acre earth sanctuary, the Center for Education, Imagination and the Natural World is dedicated to bringing to life a new vision of the relationship between the inner life of the child and the beauty, wonder and intimacy of the universe.

Since 2001, the Center has welcomed college interns and volunteers to work in our organic garden of medicinal and culinary herbs, flowers, fruits and vegetables.

If you are interested in making a commitment of service during the summer, fall or spring semester, please contact our garden volunteer coordinator, Sandy Bisdee, at (919) 724-7406 or sandybisdee@hotmail.com. We also welcome one-time volunteers for garden workdays on selected days.

The Center is about a 15-minute drive from ��ϲ��.

No Cups in Octagon today Nov. 14

Will you be here 100 years from now? Your waste will be. Every year ��ϲ�� wastes 412,000 disposable cups. Stop the waste!

Today, Wednesday Nov. 14, there will be no disposable cups available in Octagon. Students wishing to purchase a fountain beverage must bring their own reusable mug. Reusable mugs will be on sale in Moseley outside of Octagon. Mugs are $2 cash or one meal plan swipe.

Bring your reusable mug to Octagon today and help ��ϲ�� reduce its waste stream.

��ϲ�� wastes approximately 412,000 cups per year. Stop the waste!

This Wednesday, Nov. 14, there will be no disposable cups in Octagon. Students wishing to purchase a fountain beverage will be required to bring their own reusable mug. Reusable mugs will be on sale at college coffee, and in Moseley on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mugs are $2 and and can be paid with cash or a meal plan.
