The Alamance Adventure Race is a county-wide scavenger hunt for all ages. Starting at 8:00am, teams of up to 4 participants will begin their journey to all corners of the county to find challenges and collect as many points as possible. Using the app “Turfhunt,” teams will be able to see every challenge available but must get in close enough range to complete it. Challenges can vary from simply taking a picture of an item to doing something out-of-the box. Teams will visit parks, businesses, open areas, and more! Time is ticking so think strategically to get as many challenges complete before 8:00pm arrives. Challenges will be worth different points based on difficulty or location. Prizes will be given to the top 3 finishing teams.

What are you waiting for? Get your team together and get ready for the best 12 hours of fun you’ve had all year! We’ve designed this event to be COVID friendly to keep every safe and active.

Registration is $20 for a team of up to 4 people. Only one person on a team needs to register, not each team member.

KCSL: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk /u/news/2017/09/25/kcsl-the-leukemia-lymphoma-societys-light-the-night-walk/ Mon, 25 Sep 2017 20:40:00 +0000 /u/news/2017/09/25/kcsl-the-leukemia-lymphoma-societys-light-the-night-walk/ Light The Night is an evening walk that takes place in over 150 communities through the United States and Canada.

The Triad Walk will be Saturday, Oct. 7, at Country Park in Greensboro. Light The Night funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and come together for a memorable evening of celebration, commemoration and inspiration. Walkers carry lanterns, red for supporters, white for survivors and gold for those walking in honor of someone they’ve lost to help shine light on the importance of finding cures.

They need two shifts of volunteers – one from 12:30 to 3 p.m. to set up and organize the different areas of our walk site (food, mission, T-shirts, etc.) and the second from 4:30 to 9 p.m. to help run the event – helping at registration, in the fun zone, in the glow zone, distributing food, etc.
