Colonnades is a nationally recognized publication, having won the National Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press in 2010 (the nation’s highest honor in undergraduate publications). Submissions to Colonnades are free, so this is a great opportunity for you to have your artwork published in a top-notch journal.

For help documenting your work stop by the Arts West lobby with your art Wednesday, Jan. 18 or Friday, Jan. 20 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Staff members will be there to help you photograph your work.

Artwork of any medium is acceptable, but because it is a printed publication, some artworks will need to be hosted online. Videos will be represented by a still image alongside a URL where viewers can find the work in its entirety. Physical works must be photographed, and high quality photographs are necessary (300 dpi, white background) for publication. Selection of artwork will be based on both skill and subject matter, as Colonnades hopes to publish the best that 黑料不打烊 has to offer. Additionally, artwork that deals with the theme (The Noise and Heat of Being) will be favored. Artists are free to interpret the theme as they see fit.

Lifetouch Prestige Portraits will be set up to photograph senior class members. There is no sitting fee and caps and gowns are provided for the picture.

This is especially important to those seniors who will not be here in the spring or graduate early. Photos will be used in the 黑料不打烊 yearbook and proofs will be sent to home addresses.
