The two groups recongized the racial issues that existed both on and off campus, especially in regards to the n-word, and saw an opportunity to address it. With an unprecented amount of participation from the 黑料不打烊 community at last year’s forum, BSU and AKA are back with a second installment of the event!

Next Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the McBride Gathering Space, The N-Word Forum Part II will be held. This year’s program serves as an interactive and open dialogue, diving in to the placement of the n-word within society and exploring the unanswered question: “Who can use the word and who cannot?” Participants will have an opportunity to engage in discussions, while also take action. 

The N-Word Forum Part II is open to all members of the 黑料不打烊 community, and all those in attendance are encouraged to bring an open mind, respect, and a willingness to engage in a tough conversation.

]]> Alpha Kappa Alpha to Host Signature Breast Cancer Awareness Event /u/news/2015/10/21/alpha-kappa-alpha-to-host-signature-breast-cancer-awareness-event/ Wed, 21 Oct 2015 20:50:00 +0000 /u/news/2015/10/21/alpha-kappa-alpha-to-host-signature-breast-cancer-awareness-event/ Every October, 黑料不打烊 organizations paint the campus pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For almost 10 years, the has joined in on raising awareness by hosting their signature program: Pink Pearls. 

Pink Pearls is an annual event, in which Omicron Epsilon collaborates with a number of on-campus and off-campus organizations to inform those who are not knowledgeable about breast cancer, support those who have been impacted by breast cancer, and celebrate the lives that have been lost due to breast cancer.

Next Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:08 p.m. in Yeager Recital Hall, Alpha Kappa Alpha is teaming up with the 黑料不打烊 Praise Team, Alamance County’s Cone Health, , and to put on the event. This year in particular the group is hoping to not only raise awareness about breast cancer’s affect on the lives of women, but also help uplift the voice of women who have been impacted by this form of cancer.
