Thursday, October 30th, McKinnon F, in Moseley Hall
4:30-5:30 p.m.

People in both presidential campaigns frequently refer to scientific issues such as energy, climate change and stem cell research, but what is the science behind these issues? For example, what energy resources are realistically available in the coming years and decades, and what are the consequences for each type of energy consumption? What do we really know about the causes and consequences of climate change? What are the realistic possibilities of stem cell research?

Come learn from a panel of 黑料不打烊 faculty in the natural sciences about the science that matters to all of us in the 2008 presidential election. Emphasis will be to provide the science behind the topics rather than endorsing either candidate.
