Voting March 6 on SGA budget allocations for 2008-2009

On Thursday, March 6, the Student Government Association will be voting to approve the proposed budget allocations for the 08-09 school year.

Please visit the SGA website http://org.elon.edu/sga/ and check out the proposal that will be presented by the Budget Hearings Committee.

Feel free to join us at our meeting promptly at 7:30 pm in Moseley 215.

2008-2009 SGA budget applications are due to the SGA office no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The application packets are available in the SGA Office Moseley 221-A or on the SGA web-site at http://org.elon.edu/sga/. Please encourage groups to read all instructions thoroughly prior to submitting the packet.

2008-2009 SGA budget hearings will be conducted the evenings of Feb. 24-27 (5-10 p.m.). Group hearing times will be posted no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2008.

The Finance Committee and SGA Executive Treasurer will hold
informational meetings for organization treasurers and advisors (or other representatives)
who may want more information and guidance about the application packets or the
budget hearing process. These meetings are optional but will serve as a great
resource for groups who participate in SGA Budget Hearings. Groups should
plan to attend one of these meetings.

Student loans available from SGA

The Student Government Association offers interest-free loans up to $200 every semester. The loan will need to be paid back to the bursar by Friday, May 9. If you are interested in taking out a student loan please stop by the SGA office Moseley 221A or email CHickey2@elon.edu to set up a time to stop by.

SGA offers student loans up to $200. The loan must be paid off by the end of the semester (December 5).

Class of ’08 at Acorn

Thanks to The Class of 2008 for coming out to Acorn for our coffee shop. Hope you enjoyed the break from work and live entertainment courtesy of James Pieper. Keep an eye out for information about other class events and Acorn Society updates. Thank you to everyone who helped with this event, especially to Chad Young and the other employees at Acorn.
