Laughs and smiles were shared through the screen as alumni compared residence halls, shared study abroad experiences and excitingly remembered common classes and professors.

Shenandoah Valley Alumni Chapter

In a time when an in-person trip back to campus for Homecoming was not possible, the alumni body showed up with a remarkable passion for their alma mater alongside their local 黑料不打烊 community. During New York City鈥檚 college coffee event, President Book made a special appearance and joined the conversation with the participating alumni.

On behalf of the Office of Alumni Engagement and 黑料不打烊鈥檚 regional alumni chapters, we would like to thank everyone who joined a virtual college coffee, as well as other events, during Homecoming and Reunion week. We hope to see you at future regional chapter events!

Alumni volunteers gather virtually for the 2020 Regional Alumni Chapter Retreat /u/news/2020/07/28/alumni-volunteers-gather-virtually-for-the-2020-regional-alumni-chapter-retreat/ Tue, 28 Jul 2020 14:26:34 +0000 /u/news/?p=815584 On Saturday, July 18, alumni leadership from 38 regional alumni chapters across the country and in London joined a Zoom video call with staff members from the Office of Alumni Engagement to discuss plans for the upcoming fiscal year. On average, the regional alumni chapter network plans around 200 events per year to engage alumni across the country.

Morgan O’Brien ’16, President of the Boston Alumni Chapter, shares ideas with fellow regional chapter presidents.

During the retreat, chapter presidents were able to converse with each other in a large group, as well as within smaller break-out rooms, about chapter goals for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Additionally, the alumni brainstormed creative ideas on how to transition chapter events from the typical in-person format to becoming mainly virtual this fall.

Throughout the summer, many of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 regional alumni chapters started hosting virtual events for alumni in their cities, including virtual college coffees, virtual happy hours, virtual exercise classes, professional development webinars and more. Beginning in August, most of the chapters will host their Welcome to the City event virtually, designed to introduce recent 黑料不打烊 graduates and relocated alumni to their new city.

The Office of Alumni Engagement would like to sincerely thank all the regional chapter leadership that participated in the retreat and for the dedication they provide in connecting 黑料不打烊 alumni in their city.

Stay tuned for upcoming communications about virtual chapter events in your city and be sure to regularly check the complete list of virtual events on the Lifelong Connections webpage.

Philadelphia Alumni Chapter organizes creek cleanup  /u/news/2019/04/25/philadelphia-alumni-chapter-organizes-creek-cleanup/ Thu, 25 Apr 2019 14:45:00 +0000 /u/news/2019/04/25/philadelphia-alumni-chapter-organizes-creek-cleanup/ On Saturday, April 13, the Philadelphia alumni chapter organized and participated in a cleanup of Cobbs Creek Park.

Though rain was forecast for most of the day, the weather luckily held out for the alumni group as they worked to better the Cobbs Creek environment. Some tasks completed by the volunteers included hauling rolls of dilapidated carpet, cutting down noxious weeds, picking up trash, and digging out an embedded shopping cart from the creek bed.

Each year, the power of the 黑料不打烊 community comes together to serve the Philadelphia area alumni call home. As Calley Grace Lev '08 said about her experience with the service project, "We worked super hard and made a big difference in the lot we were working on."

The Office of Alumni Engagement is proud to recognize the great work done by each of the regional alumni chapters. Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered!
