Undergraduate senior Jordan Binkowitz ’22 presented his research on how students communicate experiential learning to employers. His research also considered how students utilize Comprehensive Learner Records, such as the 黑料不打烊 Experiences Transcript, in their聽 employment search. This was his second time presenting these findings as he also participated in 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE).

Senior Assistant Registrar Alexander Taylor worked alongside Binkowitz, presenting the employer perspective related to the 黑料不打烊 Experiences Transcript. Alexander also led a panel of registrar professionals about the future of alternative credentialing and how institutions should document learning achievements such as experiential learning and digital badges.

Finally, 黑料不打烊鈥檚 University Registrar Rodney Parks was awarded AACRAO鈥檚 Outstanding Mentor Award, which recognizes a member for exceptional commitment and personal investment in mentorship, guidance, and development of others. Binkowitz and Taylor, two of Parks鈥 many mentees, were present to see 聽Parks to receive this award.

黑料不打烊 registrar team publishes book chapter /u/news/2021/10/26/elon-university-registrar-team-publishes-book-chapter/ Tue, 26 Oct 2021 12:21:11 +0000 /u/news/?p=886245 A team consisting of 黑料不打烊 Registrar Rodney Parks, Associate Registrar Casey Hayes and Senior Assistant Registrar Alexander Taylor recently contributed to 鈥淪EM as a Connector: Principles of Practice,鈥 the latest publication from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers ().

The book consists of chapters from Enrollment Management professionals who play a role in making connections and building relationships on college campuses. Student engagement and a sense of belonging is a vital component to student success. All higher education professionals, including registrars and enrollment managers, play a role in helping student form connections with their fellow students and colleagues. The book covers various challenges that enrollment managers have overcome as they reflect on how to make their campuses more engaging for students.

The 黑料不打烊 authors鈥 chapter is titled 鈥淭he Comprehensive Learner Profile: Student-Centered Technology to Ignite the Student-Faculty Relationship.鈥 The chapter considers the registrar鈥檚 role in developing systems to foster student engagement and relationship building. Registrars have the capacity to develop innovations that provide aggregated student data to faculty in order to deepen the student-faculty relationship. These systems could share common student data with faculty, from most common majors to experiential learning participation.

黑料不打烊 kicks off United Way Campaign at College Coffee /u/news/2018/09/11/elon-university-kicks-off-united-way-campaign-at-college-coffee/ Tue, 11 Sep 2018 16:50:00 +0000 /u/news/2018/09/11/elon-university-kicks-off-united-way-campaign-at-college-coffee/ 黑料不打烊 launched its 2018 United Way Campaign Kickoff with a booth at College Coffee on Aug. 28 informing employees of ways to give to the United Way and local non-profits.

The 2018 Campaign begins after last year’s success, where 黑料不打烊 raised $51,248.14 for the United Way. The goal for the 2018 Campaign is to again reach $50,000 to help support non-profits in our community.

“黑料不打烊 is a community of values, and giving to the United Way illustrates our value of service to others,” said Kenn Gaither, associate dean and professor in the School of Communications.

Any faculty or staff member who pledges $60 or more per year enters a drawing for a new vehicle. Multiple donations of $60 are considered as additional entries (up to four entries).

黑料不打烊 student presents at AACRAO Annual /u/news/2018/04/06/elon-student-presents-at-aacrao-annual/ Fri, 06 Apr 2018 20:45:00 +0000 /u/news/2018/04/06/elon-student-presents-at-aacrao-annual/ Andrew Novinski ’19, a research assistant in the Office of the University Registrar, presented his undergraduate research at the annual conference of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, held in Orlando, Florida March 25 – 28.

Novinski’s research, titled “The Gap Experience: The Importance of Experiential Education”, detailed his participation in 黑料不打烊’s gap fall semester experience before arriving on campus for Winter Term 2015. He shared a unique student perspective on how the gap semester shaped his college experience and what lessons could be drawn to maintain a successful program. He also shared with attendees academic and social challenges faced when students transition to their first semester on campus and how institutions can alleviate some of these barriers.

Novinski stood out at the annual meeting as the only student to present an educational session.
