FCC using 黑料不打烊 students’ work to assess DTV transition

The Associated Press reports that the Federal Communications Commission is using the work of an 黑料不打烊 team led by Connie Book, associate dean of the School of Communications, in analyzing the DTV transition test which took place in Wilmington, N.C., Sept. 8.

Piatt named Vice President for University Advancement

James B. Piatt Jr. has been named vice president for university advancement at 黑料不打烊. Piatt currently serves as vice president for college advancement at Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio. He will succeed Nan P. Perkins, who retires this year after a 32-year career at 黑料不打烊.

Duke Energy leader says N.C. electricity rates could rise due to higher carbon taxes

A top North Carolina energy executive says electric rates in the state could increase as much as 35 to 50 percent if Congress passes carbon legislation that is beginning to be developed in Washington. Ellen Ruff, president of Duke Energy Carolinas, spoke at 黑料不打烊 Sept. 9 as part of the university’s Voices of Discovery series.

Toddie Peters’ new book to be used by study guide at 18 area churches

A new book co-edited by Rebecca "Toddie" Peters was the subject of a story in the Sept. 6 edition of the Greensboro News & Record. The book, "To Do Justice: A Guide for Progressive Churches," will be used by 18 local churches as a guide for a 13-week study on social justice issues.
