Sigma Alpha Omega is ��ϲ��’s only Christian sorority that is centered on a sisterhood of Christ. If you are interested, please come to one of our interest meetings this week!

We will have meetings on:

Monday, February 16th at 7:30 p.m. in Alamance 215

Thursday, February 19th at 7:30 p.m. in Alamance 215

Volunteer with Avalon

A student volunteers with Avalon

Are you looking for a way to make an impact on children’s lives?

Avalon volunteers travel to the Center of New North Carolinians at the Ashton Woods apartment complex in Greensboro and assist refugee children who are adjusting to life in the United States. Students can volunteer on weekday evenings to tutor elementary through high school students. On Fridays, student volunteers play games or participate in arts and crafts activities with the children.

For those interested in tutoring during the week, please attend the interest meeting on Thursday, April 3, at 8:30 p.m. in Moseley 217.

We also have times available for large groups looking to coordinate some Fun Friday activities.

EV! Spring Break Interest Meetings – Oct. 7 & 8

EV! is offering three alternative break trips this October 11- 15. These four day trips will allow you to explore North Carolina and meet people who are also passionate about service.

The trips taking place this fall break are:

Fall 2012 trip to Turtle Island, NC

Environmental Issues (Turtle Island, N.C.) – Volunteer with an environmentally sustainable nature preserve in North Carolina.

Community Development (Appalachian Mountains) – Work with a variety of projects and partners to help communities in rural North Carolina.

Education Disparities (Eastern North Carolina) – Work to build capacity, promote health, and increase access to education in a community of migrant and farm workers.

Applications can be dropped off in Moseley 230 by Friday, September 27.
