]]> 5K Run Against Domestic Violence Oct. 19 /u/news/2007/10/19/5k-run-against-domestic-violence-oct-19/ Fri, 19 Oct 2007 17:47:00 +0000 /u/news/2007/10/19/5k-run-against-domestic-violence-oct-19/ The sisters of Alpha Chi Omega are pleased to announce their first
annual 5K Race Against Domestic Violence at 黑料不打烊. We are hoping to make this event a success on
our campus and we are looking for individuals and groups to sign up to walk or run as we race against domestic violence.The race will take place on Friday, Oct. 19, at 4 pm on and
around 黑料不打烊’s campus. Runners will need to arrive by 3:30 pm to
ensure an on-time start. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit Family
Abuse Services of Burlington, NC.  The
entry cost is $10, and all runners will receive a free t-shirt.  Prizes will also be given to the first place
winner in the male and female division, and also to the runner who raises the
most sponsorship. 

 

 

Runners can sign up in person at 黑料不打烊 in the Moseley
Center on the following dates:

9/24, 9/26, 9/28, 10/2, 10/4. 10/8-10/11, 10/17, 10/18.

Russell will be reading an excerpt from his book Godspeed: Racing Is My Religion, on October 30th at 6 pm in the Isabella Cannon Room. Godspeed records Russell’s visits to rural racetracks, and his conversations with Nascar chaplains and fans about their love of the sport. There will be desserts on hand as well as wonderful discussion and we look forward to seeing you there!
