We will continue our workshop series by participating in an activity that will help us learn and understand how to come up with the “One Thing” when you need to create advertising material for a product or service. Finding the “One Thing” is probably the most important step in the creative process because it establishes your entire campaign for that product or service, so please try and attend this workshop, it will be both very beneficial and fun.

With the workshop, we will also be hearing from our committee heads on what they have been up to this semester–they will also be looking to you for help to accomplish some of our organizations goals for this year.

Membership dues are $40. Checks should be made out to AAF 黑料不打烊, and should be paid before our next meeting. You can place the checks in either Allison Constable’s campus box- 3858 or Chris Adams’ campus box-3002.

For those of you who wish to be committee heads please send me an email telling me why you wish to do so.The committees are:

Ads Committee
Responsible for presenting interesting advertisements to the chapter each meeting and explaining why they work or don’t work, what is their intent, who are they targeting, etc.

Fundraising Committee
Responsible for organizing on- or off-campus fundraising events to prevent having to raise dues. Money raised is spent however the chapter wishes.

Outreach
Responsible for establishing a relationship with a company in need of advertising help. This can be local or not. This person is also responsible for creating their ads and may be assisted by any member who wishes to help out.

Website
Responsible for updating our website as needed (i.e. when new members join, we do an event, or a speaker presents to our chapter).

It may not be AMC’s favorite “Mad Men”, but 黑料不打烊’s American Advertising Federation chapter does a great job at helping students learn more about advertising, how your talents are applicable to the industry, and can help you network to secure internships and/or a job in the industry. 

The AAF 黑料不打烊 Chapter was created to shed light on another aspect of the communications industry not as prevalent in the school’s curriculum. Advertising is an industry full of communicators, creatives, and businessmen; so all majors are encouraged and welcome to attend.
