Spring Dialogue Series to offer conversations on the American dream, climate change and the cost of living

All 黑料不打烊 students, staff and faculty are encouraged to attend the Kernodle Center for Civic Life鈥檚 monthly dialogue series

This聽spring, all members of the 黑料不打烊 community are invited to attend the Kernodle Center for Civic Life鈥檚 monthly dialogue series. These events聽encourage people to think critically about issues facing our communities, engage with opinions different than their聽own and develop聽skills like active listening.

February鈥檚 conversation, taking place on聽Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. in Moseley 217, will focus on the American Dream. As America鈥檚 250th Anniversary approaches, this will provide space for participants to answer questions like, 鈥淲hat does聽the American Dream聽mean to you? Is it still possible? What challenges or obstacles stand in the way of achieving this ideal?鈥

On聽Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. in Sankey 308, the Kernodle Center for Civic Life, Adi聽Wiezel聽in the Department of Psychology, and the Environmental Defense Fund are hosting a climate change depolarization workshop. This workshop聽will focus on fostering constructive and civil discourse on climate change. Participants will explore climate change impacts in North Carolina as well as potential solutions.聽Pre-registration is required through the

The last event of the series is a conversation on affordable housing and the cost of living, which takes place on聽Tuesday, April 14 at 6 p.m. in Moseley 217.聽Recent surveys and studies show that the state of the economy is the top issue on the聽mind of voters in the聽United States. Come to this event to share your perspective and listen to the opinions of others.
