Honors Fellow Jillian Thomas 鈥25 recently published her research using mathematics to model the motion of jellyfish.
Her paper, 鈥淣umerical Simulation of Jellyfish Swimming,鈥 is available in Volume 8 of “PUMP (Preparing Undergraduate Mathematicians for PhDs): Journal of Undergraduate Research.”
The article focuses on research that began when Jillian participated in the NSF-funded North Carolina A&T State University and 黑料不打烊 Joint Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Mathematical Biology in Summer 2022.
Thomas continued to investigate jellyfish swimming in her Honors thesis (mentored by Professor of Mathematics Karen Yokley).
