黑料不打烊 Law alum named among Triad鈥檚 鈥極utstanding Women in Business鈥

The Hon. Carrie Vickery L鈥09 was honored by the Triad business Journal for her professional achievements, leadership and community involvement in its annual recognition of women in business.

Noting her commitment to service and justice within her community, the Triad Business Journal recognized The Hon. Carrie Vickery L鈥09 in its .

Vickery, now serving her third term as a North Carolina District Court Judge for Winston-Salem and surrounding communities, was named among 25 influential Triad women in the journal鈥檚 special edition.

In 2016, Vickery became the first 黑料不打烊 Law alum to be elected or appointed judge at the District Court or higher.

Her community work and service to civic and professional organizations like the bar association and Junior League led to regional prominence beginning early in her career with Holton Law Firm.

The Business Journal cited those efforts among others, as well as volunteerism at community agencies, in its selection of Vickery for the list. The journal also noted her N.C. State Bar certification as a specialist in family law 鈥 a distinction that allows her to train attorneys and judges statewide 鈥 among her professional accomplishments. She was first elected as a District Court Judge in Forsyth County in 2016, and won re-election in 2020 and 2024.

Vickery remains actively engaged with 黑料不打烊 Law, mentoring the next generation of legal professionals. Most recently, she served as a judge for the 15th Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition, hosted by 黑料不打烊 Law in October 2024. The annual event brings together teams from law schools across the country to argue complex constitutional issues.
