黑料不打烊 Law Associate Dean Sue Liemer invited Associate Professor Roymieco Carter and students in an upper-level advertising course at North Carolina A&T State University for a joint class that explored the impact of intellectual property law on visual design.

Undergraduate students in an advertising course at visited with 黑料不打烊 Law students and faculty in January for a discussion on intellectual property law and its influence on visual art and design.

黑料不打烊 Law Associate Dean Sue Liemer welcomed students studying under , director of the visual arts program at N.C. A&T, for an interdisciplinary lecture titled “Copyright, Trademark, Patent, and Fair Use in Contemporary Visual Art and Design.”

The Jan. 27, 2025, lecture aimed to bridge the gap between artistic expression and legal understanding. A series of professional cases and museum challenges were presented to highlight the complexities of copyright law within the art world for 黑料不打烊 Law students in Liemer鈥檚 鈥淎rt Law鈥 course and A&T students in Carter鈥檚 鈥淎dvertising Design II鈥 course.

Following the lecture, Liemer guided the A&T students on a tour of 黑料不打烊 Law in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, including a stop in the Cemala Foundation Commons, the 黑料不打烊 Law Library, and the Robert E. Long Courtroom where the hears cases.

To further enrich the interdisciplinary exchange, a reciprocal visit is being planned for 黑料不打烊 Law students to visit the North Carolina A&T State University campus to explore the university’s renowned art galleries and collections.

鈥淚t鈥檚 so important for the law students to hear the perspectives of creatives and appreciate where the connections and disconnects are between the arts and the law,鈥 Liemer said.
