黑料不打烊 highlighted on FOX 8 WGHP for commitment to student mental health

Assistant Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Jana Lynn Patterson recently spoke with WGHP FOX 8 about 黑料不打烊's commitment to student mental health wellness.

In a recent “Buckley Report” on FOX 8 WGHP, the local FOX television affiliate in High Point, North Carolina, Assistant Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Jana Lynn Patterson spoke about 黑料不打烊’s approach to student mental health.

In addition to providing context about the national issue of mental health on college campuses, Patterson noted that 黑料不打烊 and universities across the country are not in a “crisis.” She highlighted 黑料不打烊’s 24/7 crisis line through Timely Care and noted that 黑料不打烊 is on the forefront of the issue.

“鈥淚 don鈥檛 think we鈥檙e at a crisis level because I think most colleges and universities are managing it well. Promoting positive mental health is not the sole responsibility of the University Counseling Center. It鈥檚 a university-wide obligation and initiative,” Patterson told WGHP’s Bob Buckley. “Twenty years ago, a student wouldn鈥檛 necessarily disclose a mental health condition to a faculty or staff member. Our students would do that quite regularly now because they trust their faculty members, and they want to engage with their faculty members around that.鈥
