The Feature Phoenix series is a way for all students to learn about student organizations and clubs and how they are being inclusive on campus. Episode 11 introduces Emily Stuart ’26, who serves as co-lead civic ambassador of 黑料不打烊 Votes!
黑料不打烊 Votes! is a nonpartisan resource that was developed by the 黑料不打烊 Political Engagement Work Group, Council on Civic Engagement and Kernodle Center for Civic Life. The organization’s聽goal is聽to help 黑料不打烊 students by registering to vote and casting their ballots in upcoming elections.
黑料不打烊 Votes! was launched in 2014 and is housed in the Kernodle Center for Civic Life in Moseley Center 232. 黑料不打烊 has since been committed to promoting civic engagement and participation.
鈥淚 think it鈥檚 a community here at 黑料不打烊 Votes and we want it to be not just our leadership and ambassador team to be the community, but a community that everyone in the school can engage with,鈥 said Stuart.聽In the video, she shares the goals of聽黑料不打烊 Votes聽and how the organization works toward promoting inclusive excellence. 鈥淥ne way we practice that is through collaborations.鈥
As part of 黑料不打烊 Votes!, Stuart oversees the 黑料不打烊 Civic Engagement Ambassadors, a team of student volunteers who help inform the 黑料不打烊 community about voting resources.
Make a plan to cast your ballot in the 2024 election. Early voting takes place in South Gym from Oct. 17 – Nov. 2. Visit the Kernodle Center for Civic Life for assistance with your election needs.
