At SIIS, faculty from around the world enjoy a two-week residency at Brandeis where they participate in seminars taught by distinguished Israel studies scholars and develop syllabi for courses they will teach upon returning to their home institutions.

鈥淚 envision proposing an interdisciplinary urban studies program with a global focus at 黑料不打烊. At the moment, 黑料不打烊 has no program like that,鈥 Kasim said. 鈥淟atching onto 黑料不打烊鈥檚 global and undergraduate research stamp would position me on solid ground to set the program in motion with foundational courses and student research on comparative urbanisms with Africa and Middle East cities as the initial focus. The SIIS program will put me in a great place to complete and introduce a proposal for this new program.鈥

In addition to the residency, participants will undertake a 10-day tour of Israel, featuring meetings with Jewish and Arab intellectuals, politicians and community leaders as well as visits to select historical and cultural sites in multiple locations throughout the country.
