Sam Olson '20 awarded Kappa Sigma Alumni Scholarship

The $4,500 award recognizes a member of the fraternity who demonstrates excellence in academics, campus involvement and fraternity leadership. 

Sam R. Olson ‘20 has been awarded the Kappa Sigma Alumni Scholarship, a $4,500 award that will go toward his ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ education.

​​Olson was recognized by demonstrating excellence in academics, campus involvement and fraternity leadership. Olson, from Bow, New Hampshire, is a history major with minors in classical studies and chemistry. 

In 1999 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Kappa Sigma alumni became the first from an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Greek letter organization to formally endow an academic scholarship specifically for undergraduate members. The endowment has offered annual academic scholarships to undergraduate members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Kappa Sigma chapter who demonstrate academic integrity and leadership prowess.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Kappa Sigma members may apply for the scholarship award that enables them to continue their academic pursuits. The scholarship is an official component of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ institutionally managed scholarship endowment and scholarships are available for award each academic year. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Kappa Sigma chapter was founded locally on Sept. 21, 1973, and has initiated close to 900 initiates during its history.
