Pilot van service connects 黑料不打烊 to Greensboro & Chapel Hill

A van service from 黑料不打烊’s campus to the PART Route 4 bus stop at Alamance Regional Medical Center is being piloted from Feb. 22- March 18.

黑料不打烊 will run a pilot van service this semester to take people to and from campus to the PART Route 4 Alamance Burlington Express Route bus stop at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

The pilot service runs Mondays through Fridays from Feb. 22 – March 18, 2016, with continuation of the service contingent on ridership.

From ARMC, riders can catch the Route 4 Alamance Burlington bus, which stops in Greensboro, Mebane, Whitsett, Chapel Hill and connects with Go Triangle and Chapel Hill Transit.

The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transit operates the PART busses. The pilot service is the result of a campus-wide survey conducted last fall when 86 percent of survey participants indicated they would be interested in the weekday connector service.

The connector van service from campus is free and will run eight trips each business day based on the PART Route 4 bus schedule. People can catch the connector service at the Inman Admissions Welcome Center BioBus stop.

Once on a PART vehicle, riders pay $3 for a bus pass. Riders over the age of 60, and students with a valid identification, receive a 50 percent discount off that price.

Another benefit of the van service from campus is that it provides access to medical care at ARMC in the event of a non-life-threatening health concern that cannot be met at the Student or Faculty/Staff Wellness centers.
