Students to present at religious studies conference

Four ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students will present papers at the annual meeting of the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion in Atlanta the weekend of March 8-9, 2014. This conference, the regional meeting for the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature, accepts only a select number of papers among undergraduate proposals for presentation.  

The students from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ presenting are:

  • Pamel Gutermuth, “Dispensationalism and Christians United for Israel: The Role and Denial of Dispensationalism in Christians United for Israel,” mentored by Geoffrey Claussen.
  • Sarah Holland, “Christianity in the Shadow of the Shoah: Exploring the Social Dimensions of Religion,” mentored by Jeffrey Pugh.
  • Stewart Sturkie, “Yahweh and King Saul: Interpretations of the Monstrous in First Samuel,” mentored by Lynn Huber.
  • Sarah Turner Wells, “Negotiation of Hindu Death Rites in the South Asian Diaspora,” mentored by Amy Allocco.
