Students in the master's program have varied undergraduate degrees from universities across the US -- and overseas.
More than three dozen students from a variety of backgrounds began ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 10-month master’s program in Interactive Media on Monday. The 38 students comprise the fifth class in the program’s history.
Two-thirds of the iMedia Class of 2014 earned communications degrees as undergraduates; others come from majors including biology, art, political science, psychology, sport management, equestrian science and computer information systems. They completed their undergraduate degrees at schools such as ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Lehigh University, Clemson University, Ithaca College, West Virginia University, UNC, NC State, NC A&T, UNCW, Salem College, Appalachian State and Newcastle (England).
Students without a communications background took weeklong primers on media writing and media law. In August, all students will be participating in a digital media workshop, which will be followed by a full menu of courses in the fall.
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 10-month, full-time program prepares graduates to think strategically across media platforms; plan and create interactive media content consisting of text, images, sounds, video and graphics; and manage information for interactive news, entertainment and persuasive communications.
