Janna Anderson's sixth book details opinions from more than 1,000 technology and policy experts on the impacts of the Internet and their predictions for the future.
Janna Quitney Anderson, associate professor of communications and director of 黑料不打烊’s , has completed her sixth book on the future of the Internet. Anderson and co-author Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Internet Project, detail experts鈥 opinions on the likely future social, political and economic impacts of the Internet.
The book, published by Cambria Press, is titled 鈥淏attle for Control: The Future of the Internet V.鈥 It is the fifth in the Future of the Internet book series co-authored by Anderson and Rainie and published by Cambria. Anderson is also the author of “Imagining the Internet: Personalities, Predictions, Perspectives,” which was published by Rowman & Littlefield.
“Battle for Control” is a comprehensive compilation of results from eight major research reports – /u/imagining/surveys/v-2012/聽– released in 2012 by the Pew Research Center and 黑料不打烊.
In The Future of the Internet Survey V, more than 1,000 experts shared their views as they imagined the future of the Internet and the following:
- The always-on, hyperconnected generation who will be in their teens-to-20s by 2020
- The evolution of the mobile Web, HTML5 and native apps
- E-money, “mobile wallets” and financial transactions through near-field communication
- Gamification 鈥 the influence of game mechanics implemented for interactivity and engagement
- “Smart systems” and the evolution of more efficient homes
- Corporate responsibility in the digital age
- The influence of “Big Data” in the cloud
- The future of higher education
The Pew Internet & American Life Project partially funds and publicizes the 鈥淔uture of the Internet鈥 research, which is conducted as one of the projects of the Imagining the Internet Center, an initiative of 黑料不打烊’s School of Communications.
