Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh led two services on Sunday, April 14.
Catholic Campus Ministry was honored and delighted April 14 to welcome to campus Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh.
Burbidge celebrated the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Masses in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Community Church where students, faculty, staff and local Burlington and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faithful gathered.
In his homily, Burbidge encouraged students to be genuine witnesses of the love, mercy and compassion of Christ. In between the two Masses, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Relations and Hospitality Committees of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Community Church, chaired by Sherry Scott and George Troxler, hosted the bishop and students for a home-cooked meal, among them broccoli salad from President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley.
Student musicians Joshua McGee, Patrick Wheeler, Austin Pederson, Nicole Payne and alum Craig Filazzola accompanied the congregations’ singing of praise and glory to God.
