The March conference co-sponsored by Northeastern University School of Law and Harvard Law School focused on the role of field placement in preparing lawyers.

Rivers James and Kantlehner, both law professors at 黑料不打烊, were joined by Lisa Montpetit Brabbit of the University of St. Thomas School of Law to form a panel titled, “Minding the Gap: A Practical Continuum from the First Year through Graduation.”
Their presentations examined preceptor and mentorship programs through which 黑料不打烊 Law and St. Thomas Law match first-year law students with practicing lawyers, who begin to bridge law school to law practice for their students through mentoring, observation of law practice and other professional development activities. These programs allow the practical legal training continuum to begin the first year of the law school curriculum and continue through second- and third-year mentoring externship seminars (St. Thomas), leadership courses with client experiences (黑料不打烊), externships and clinics.
