Recycling Outreach Intern – Position Description
The Recycling Outreach Intern will help bolster ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s recycling program by promoting recycling and solid waste reduction and monitoring and tracking the amounts and types of waste disposed and recycled. He/she will work closely with the Environmental Services Director, Sanitation/Recycling Staff and Eco Reps associated with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
• Develop and implement programs designed to increase awareness of the existing recycling program and encourage participation (the RecycleMania campaign will be a focus)
• Develop and implement programs designed to reduce overall solid waste generation
• Research, propose and assist with implementation of new recycling and/or solid waste reduction programs
• Monitor and track the amounts and types of waste disposed and recycled
• Design and produce visually stimulating materials for effective message communication, such as digital signage, brochures, fact sheets, etc.
• Compile and disseminate recycling and waste reduction information, news and events to the campus community through various media.

This internship is for the 2011-12 academic year. The intern will be expected to work 10 to15 hours a week. Specific daily work hours will be flexible. This position is paid via a monthly stipend.
