Millions of people on April 22 celebrated Earth Day, a program started in 1970 to raise awareness of the environment and the impact of human activity on the planet. Jeffrey Coker, an associate professor of biology, shares the history of Earth Day while offering ideas to consider in the latest in a series of videos where 黑料不打烊 faculty members share their research and classroom expertise.
With the 黑料不打烊 Forest as a backdrop, Coker explores the symbiotic relationship between people and their surrounding environments. The author of the upcoming book Reinventing Life emphasizes that Earth Day serves as a reminder that, ultimately, humans should want to pass along to their descendants a planet in better condition than it currently exists.
