Angela Lewellyn Jones named associate dean of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College, the College of Arts and Sciences

Angela Lewellyn Jones has been named associate dean of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College, the College of Arts and Sciences, effective June 1.

Lewellyn Jones joined the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty in 1999 as assistant professor of social justice and was promoted to associate professor in 2005. She is currently serving as chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and has served as the coordinator of Women’s/Gender Studies.

A former Service-Learning Faculty Scholar, she has been a leader in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s civic engagement efforts, serving on the Faculty Advisory Committee for Service-Learning and as Academic Coordinator of the Social Entrepreneurship Scholars Program.

She currently serves as president of the board of directors for Family Abuse Services of Alamance County. Her most recent scholarship focuses primarily on issues related to civic engagement in higher education.

Lewellyn Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wake Forest University, and a master’s degree and doctorate in sociology from North Carolina State University.
