Dunham discussed the City of Charlotte’s request to play a larger role in the dispute between North Carolina and South Carolina regarding the use of water from the Catawba River, a dispute being overseen by a Special Master appointed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Gaylord told WGHP Fox 8 News that the Supreme Court ruling in City of Ontario v. Quon could affect millions of people in the United States who use company-issued phones and computers. That case involves a California police officer who claims a police department violated his employee privacy rights by reading text messages he sent, many of which were sexually explicit, on his company-owned pager.
