On Thursday, April 8, from 4 to 5 p.m., ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law invites and other special guests from the legal community to socialize with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students, faculty, and administration, including as a special guest Judge of the Month, The Honorable Robert H. Edmunds, Jr., Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. The event will be held in the Cemala Commons on the second floor of the law school.

Rebecca Smith, a sophomore journalism major and features editor of The Pendulum student newspaper, was one of nine students nationwide to be selected for a Scripps Howard Foundation 10-day journalism study trip to Japan in its annual Roy W. Howard National Collegiate Reporting Competition.

In recognition of over 15 years of professional commitment, leadership and service to the Decision Sciences Institute, Southwest Region, Lynn R. Heinrichs has been selected to receive the organization's 2010 Distinguished Service Award.

Tony Weaver, assistant professor in the Department of Leisure and Sport Management, presented to members of the Lumina Foundation last week in Indianapolis. The presentation, "The Cost of College Athletics," examined current trends in Division I athletic spending.

More than 60 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students have traded their textbooks and laptops for hammers and paintbrushes over Spring Break this week as they take part in service trips to Argentina, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, as well as locales closer to home such as the Gulf Coast and Charleston, S.C.
