School of Education hosts Prospective Teacher Event

Dozens of high school seniors from around the region attended an informational event on campus Monday evening to learn more about the teaching profession from students and faculty in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Education.

The event, held in the Isabella Cannon Room and the Center for the Arts concourse, included presentations from North Carolina Teaching Fellows already enrolled at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ about their experiences and the benefits of attending school at the university.

High school students and their parents learned more about the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Teaching Fellows Program, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Education and specifics majors such as elementary, math, science, history, English, Spanish, physical education and music education.

Students from 125 public, private and charter high schools from an area that included Wake and Durham counties were invited to attend.
