Directors of Curriculum Materials Centers from 15 public and private colleges and universities met June 19 for their biannual meeting at the School of Education. Laura Williams, director of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Curriculum Resource Center, hosted the meeting of the North Carolina CMC Association.
A major focus of the meeting was the exchange of innovative solutions for making the most of available funding. How state budget cuts will affect P-12 textbook adoptions was also addressed. The association will meet again in the fall at UNC-Charlotte.
The tools for teaching effectively in P-12 schools now go considerably beyond the print textbook of decades past. Providing ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s teacher candidates with the best and most current resources available is a primary objective of the curriculum material centers at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ as well as all of North Carolina’s colleges and universities where teachers are prepared.
