ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Program for Ethnographic Research and Community Studies has awarded junior Clementine Wall the 2009 Outstanding Project Award in Ethnographic Research. The award is given each year to a student that exemplifies outstanding efforts and success in conducting ethnographic research.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College Faculty and Student Excellence Awards for 2009 were presented on May 7, 2009.

The May 10 recital of Phoenix Brass, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s faculty brass quintet, has been postponed indefinitely. It was to be held at 3 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium. Organizers hope to reschedule it either before graduation or, more likely, early in the fall.

Marty Baker, associate athletics trainer, will join the board of directors of the National Athletic Trainers' Association at its meeting in June.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's annual Media Board banquet on May 7 honored student communicators, as each of the six ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student media groups recognized exemplary members from the past year.

Chad Hinton and Ryan Stewart, both members of the class of 2009 at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, reported findings from their survey on the state of mentoring in the Wake County legal community to the Wake County Bar Association on April 30.

More than 100 new members were inducted into the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Communications chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at a May 7 ceremony in McKinnon Hall.
