Nearly half of all buildings taking part in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's inaugural POWER Less Energy Competition have shown a reduction in electricity usage since the contest kicked off a week ago.
Nineteen of 40 residence facilities cut power usage since Feb. 19, which Paul Holt, the maintenance control manager for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, called “a good start in our competition. Every area has some buildings that are showing energy reduction.”
“ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students are beginning to make a positive impact on our environment in a measurable way,” Holt said. “The competition as it progresses will allow even greater opportunities for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students to show their resourcefulness in finding ways to save energy.”
