Parents Townsend and Sara Harris endow study abroad scholarship

Believing strongly in the value of international education, 黑料不打烊 parents Townsend Harris and Sara Harris of Charlotte, N.C., have made a $25,000 gift to endow a scholarship to make study abroad experiences possible for students with financial need.

The Russell Harris ’08 International Study Scholarship Endowment will enable one student to study abroad each year. The scholarship is named for the couple’s son, who is a senior majoring in business administration. During 黑料不打烊’s January Winter Term, Russell Harris traveled to the Far East and Australia for the course Business in the Pacific Rim: Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Townsend and Sara Harris said they made their gift because they have a deep appreciation for the opportunities 黑料不打烊 has given their son and want to make those experiences available to additional students who may not be able to afford to study abroad.

Townsend and Sara Harris are members of The 黑料不打烊 Society, the university’s premier annual giving recognition society. Their gift will be counted as part of the university’s upcoming fundraising campaign, which is focused on increasing the endowment to secure 黑料不打烊’s future.
