Reno was named the nation’s first female attorney general in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, and remained in the post until 2001. She currently serves on the board of directors of the American Judicature Society (AJS), which established the Institute of Forensic Science & Public Policy across the street from the 黑料不打烊 Law School in downtown Greensboro.
Reno talked with students and members of the local legal community, who gather weekly for the afternoon tea. She told the gathering that she is excited about 黑料不打烊’s dream of excellence, caring and commitment to people in establishing the law school.

Reno talked about the work being done at the AJS Institute, researching the role science plays in the justice system. She told students she has had one of her convictions overturned because of evidence that exonerated the person who was convicted. She says more work must be done to set aside wrongful verdicts.

Reno was in Greensboro to attend an AJS banquet honoring former North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Henry Frye and his wife Shirley. Henry Frye is a member of the 黑料不打烊 Law School’s advisory board.
