The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Board of Trustees has elected Edward Doherty, Saddle River, N.J., to serve an unexpired term on the board that concludes in spring 2008. He was formally installed as a member at the board’s fall meeting, Oct. 6-7.
Doherty is president of Doherty Enterprises, Inc., which operates Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants, Panera Bread Bakery Cafes and Chevys Fresh Mex franchise restaurants in New York and New Jersey.
He and his wife, Joan, are members of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Parents Council as well as President’s Circle members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Society, the university’s annual giving organization. The Dohertys have participated in Leadership ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, a two-day informational seminar designed for parents, faculty and staff, and friends of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. Doherty has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business administration from St. John’s University, Queens, N.Y.
The Doherty’s daughter, Kerry, is a senior at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ majoring in corporate communications.
