Artist Bryant Holsenbeck will lead 黑料不打烊 students in the installation of 20,000 recycled bottle caps to create “River,” an unusual and visually appealing display that will be featured at an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2 at the 黑料不打烊 West Gallery, located at 406 W. Haggard Avenue in 黑料不打烊. The reception is free and open to the public.
“River” uses bottle caps of various colors to create a brilliantly colorful space that is evocative of rivers and shorelines. Holsenbeck, of Durham, N.C., uses a variety of everyday items in her work, including pencils, credit cards, broken records and chopsticks. She is a recipient of the N.C. Arts Council Fellowship and the Kathryn H. Wallace Grant for Artists in Community Service.
“River” will be on display through Oct. 29.
