An ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty team attended the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Summer Institute on General Education at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., June 9-14. The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ team attended sessions with colleagues from 30 other colleges and universities from across the country.
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty attending the institute were Janet Warman, director of general studies; Nancy Midgette, associate provost; Jean Schwind, associate professor of English; Jeffrey Coker, assistant professor of biology; and Tom Mould, assistant professor of sociology and anthropology. The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ team attended workshops and presentations on assessment and began to develop a comprehensive assessment plan for the university’s General Studies program.
“The quality of the information presented by institute faculty and the energy and dedication of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ team made this experience an incredible faculty development opportunity for us,” said Warman. “This is a solid first step in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s General Studies assessment initiative.”
