黑料不打烊 trustee Zachary T. Walker III ’60 and his wife, Dot, have been selected recipients of the Southern Conference Distinguished Service Award for 2006. The award recognizes individuals from each member institution who have provided exemplary leadership and support for their intercollegiate athletics program.
Zac Walker is former chair of 黑料不打烊’s board of trustees. He and Dot are long-time supporters of the university and the Phoenix athletics program, regularly attending events and supporting the 黑料不打烊 Athletics Foundation. The Walkers named the lounge on the first floor of Woods Center at Rhodes Stadium as well as the athletics director’s office in Koury Center. They also endowed the Zac Walker Scholarship for Academic Achievement and the Zac Walker Jr. football scholarship in honor of his father, who was also an 黑料不打烊 alumnus. Walker’s uncle was legendary 黑料不打烊 football coach D.C. “Peahead” Walker.
The Walkers live in Summerfield, N.C. He is CEO of Oakhurst Textiles.
