黑料不打烊 College presents faculty excellence awards

Seven faculty members who teach in 黑料不打烊 College, the College of Arts and Sciences, were recognized Thursday, April 21 with the college’s annual excellence awards. A selection committee chose the winners, who received a $500 monetary award. Excellence in Teaching Award

  • Robert Vick, associate professor of biology
  • Fred Rubeck, associate professor of performing arts
  • Jean Schwind, associate professor of English

Excellence in Service/Leadership Award

  • Tom Arcaro, professor of sociology
  • Pam Kiser, professor of human services

Excellence in Scholarship Award

  • Kevin Boyle, professor of English
  • Brant Touchette, assistant professor of biology

During the program in Whitley Auditorium, David Runkel, a junior math-education major, music minor and North Carolina Teaching Fellow, and Sharon LaRocco, instructor of music and university accompanist, dazzled the audience with a saxophone-piano performance.
