The following is a proclamation from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ President Leo M. Lambert:
National French Week: La Semaine du Français
November 5-11, 2003
WHEREAS, The American Association of Teachers of French is celebrating November 5 through 11 as the fifth annual National French Week, and
WHEREAS, The study of foreign languages is a bridge to international understanding and cooperation, and the study of the French language fosters a greater appreciation for the people and culture of France and the French-speaking world; and
WHEREAS, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national French honorary society which recognizes outstanding scholarship in the French language and literature, also seeks to increase appreciation for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world by encouraging French cultural activities on campus; and
WHEREAS, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ French Club has planned a number of special events for the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That November 5 through 11, 2003, be observed as National French Week at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
