黑料不打烊’s civic journalism project, led by Dr. David Loomis and a group of 黑料不打烊 School of Communications students, will host a forum at 7:30 p.m. April 29 in the Paramount Theater in downtown Burlington.
Students will make presentations reflecting the information they have gathered about issues of importance to the Alamance County Latino community, and a panel of representatives from Latino, business, public school, non-profit and other area groups will discuss the issues raised by the students’ reporting. This discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer period featuring the audience and panelists.
The event is being promoted by 黑料不打烊’s Enterprise Academy. The local daily newspaper, the Burlington Times-News, has been a partner in this civic journalism initiative, which is being funded by 黑料不打烊 and Project Pericles, which encourages civic engagement.
