Pat Murphy, who has served as interim director of financial planning at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ since October, has been named to the post on a permanent basis.
As director of financial planning, Murphy will be responsible for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s institutional, state and federal student financial aid programs. He will develop policies for awarding financial aid and ensure ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s compliance with state and federal aid statutory requirements.
“ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is fortunate to have such a talented member of the current staff assume new responsibilities in so critical an area of the university,” says Susan Klopman, dean of admissions and financial planning. “Pat’s knowledge of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s financial and business operations has made this a smooth transition.”
Murphy has served as ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s bursar since 1994. He streamlined ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s financial operations, computerized the office and implemented procedures which dramatically shortened the student registration process.
Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
